Day two of the main flooring install. Still spending a lot of time waiting for primer to dry but, the floor is coming along nicely. We were about half way by the end of the day.

So, today was the day to start the flooring. Boy did this not go as planned!

The epoxy was very open after the sanding and it swallowed up the first coat of adhesive primer so, we put on a second coat on for good measure. Worked out very well in the end. The only down side was the dry time of better than 90 minutes per coat with the humidity being as high as it has been lately. Then there is the factor of Soldier A's short arms. He could only lay two foot sections at a time.  😂

Guess we will be doing flooring tomorrow as well.

Finally got the rest of the floor sanded as flat as it can be. Working on his hands and knees for the last few days has left soldier A walking around like a hunch back.  😂 But, it's now ready for the final flooring tomorrow.

Got the final road base layer down and compacted today which allowed the rebar to get started. There was also the regular yard maintenance to be done so, it was an awesome day overall.

Covid is still keeping us on lock down at the motor pool, but that just means getting more stuff done. today was lots more epoxy.

Then Soldier A had to come to grips with the fact that no matter how much he hates to paint it was time to start sucking it up and put time in the bathroom prepping and priming the case work. All together a really good day.

Got everything cleaned up today and rolled out the first coat of primer in the refer compartment then back to prepping other areas.

Finished sanding out the refer compartment and it came out really nice. Going to clean up the mess tomorrow and throw on the first coat of primer. Safe night to everyone.

With the lock down continuing we are being responsible and staying inside the motor pool compound. This isn't a bad thing though. Stuff continues to get done every day.

Today was more sanding and prep for primer. Not very glamourous but it has to get done. 😂😂

We also got the second coat of primer on in the hanging closet area.

4/3/2020

Got the area that will be the hanging close and boot closet all sanded and ready for primer today. Primer tomorrow and we are still waiting for our paint samples to try out our sponge painting plan.

While all the sanding was going on we also rolled out the last three heavy coats of epoxy in the refrigerator compartment. Now that area of the floor is ready for block sanding in preparation for the floor tiles.

A quick side note on tools and equipment. The new 20 volt Dewalt cordless sander hooked to the shop vac is a real pleasure to use, unless overhead of course. It's probably 90% or more dust free. 😁

More progress today while dealing with the horrible things are happening on the globe. Our best wishes to everyone.

We got a lot more work done on preparing for the floor installation. Floated out the pass through areas and block sanded the first section of main floor in preparation for the final three coats of epoxy that we are going to apply.

Once all of the main floor gets the three coats we will block it out one last time and then prime it for the floor tiles.

Lots more epoxy on the walls today as well as the ceiling. Also a bit more work on the entertainment cabinet. Hope everyone is being as safe as possible.

With all this Covid-19 BS going on we are way behind on posting progress reports on the Dragon Wagon. That doesn't mean there hasn't been any. With the first part of our event season, at the least, we have turned the majority of our attention towards  Tiffany.

We will try and catch up as quickly as possible.

More cabinet skins and the pony wall reconstruction. It's going to give us small cubby like storage on the driver's side of the bedroom.

Great day with help from our neighbor D! Got all the scales stripped back off the Dragon Wagon Too trailer.

While that was going on Soldier A was unpacking and setting up his new miter saw. He was like a kid at Christmas! But, after he settled down he got the bathroom ceiling done.

Yesterday was devoted to chores around the motor pool. Today was back to the bathroom in the Mega Camper. Got the last two walls done and still had time to install the last section of ceiling now that the DOT lights are installed.

2/25/2020

Got the largest wall of the bathroom skinned today. Doing it by himself, Soldier A said it was a bit tricky and he thought he lost it a couple of times. In the end it came out awesome. The bathroom in Tiffany is coming out better than the one in our house.😂

2/22/2020 -B

Got more time in on the paracord inventory which is going to be our biggest and best ever. We are starting to have sore hands again.

Now for the progress of the day. 👍 We tested the new temporary shower unit and it worked well. Hot showers even before we finish the plumbing. Yay!

Finished the rest of the sanding in the bathroom followed by a boat load of cleanup and prep work for the installation of the final laminated goods. Pay off was worth every sore muscle.

Got the main floor cut glued and installed. Soldier A being himself did the install without a respirator and went to bed with a glue hangover. That's on him!

2/22/2020 - A

Great day! This is actually going to take a couple of post. for starters we got an awesome call from Big A the owner of Suave TV.

Looks like the Dragon Wagon is going to Tacoma for Cinco De Mayo. If the Suave crew is hooking up with the Dragon Wagon team, you know it's going to be a great time. Everybody is invited!

Here is the poster and we will add details on our 2020 schedule page.

More sanding and still waiting for the paint to dry out on the form boards. The flooring tiles arrived this afternoon and we think the combination is going to work very well.

2/16/2020

As we had hoped we got to do a little bit of sanding followed by a lot of cleanup and epoxy.

That's somewhat of an understatement! We mixed and rolled epoxy until our hands hurt so bad we could hardly mix or hold the roller handle anymore. Tons of progress and worth the pain. 😂

2/15/2020

Got a bit of time in on the paracord inventory this morning and then it was back to our not favorite thing in the world. Sanding!

By the end of the evening we just had to add a bit of extra fairing compound that we will sand down first thing in the morning. Soldier A is so anal about everything being perfect.

The ceiling floated in very nice. and we can't wait to get started with the final dressing.

2/14/2020

It seems like we always have a million things going on at once around the motor pool. But, it's valentine's Day! So, since Soldier A had to take the Dragon Wagon into town to pick up the wall tiles, he made sure to bring a treat of balloons and flowers to Soldier B. 💖 Major point score!

Back at the motor pool the boxes of wall tile had to be unloaded and cut open so they can acclimate to the environment up here. They are actually real wood not ceramic tile.

Got right outside after that to insulate and finish the bathroom ceiling once and for all. Another milestone, be it ever so slight. 😁

Then it was back to finishing up the sanding and final coat of fairing compound so we can sand that for the multiple coats of epoxy that will be rolled over the entire inside of the bathroom, making everything completely water and mold proof. Hoping to get all of the final sanding done tomorrow and the epoxy coats on Sunday. Then the actual bath finish can start.

We rounded out the day picking a floor tile that we think will make a nice contrast to the wall wood.

2/12/2020

Got it on today and laid in the 2nd and 3rd fabric layers in the shower pan. Then after things started to set up we ran over everything with a coat of smooth fairing compound.

We'll sand this down tomorrow and see where we're at.
